Shaving or waxing should be done 24 hours prior to your tan appointment. This assures the tanning solution doesn’t create orange dots inside of your pores.

This will be the most important part of your skin prep! This will essentially help to make your skin a “clean slate” which is vital for your tan. Get all that dirt, makeup, perfume, oil & dead skin cells off so that your artist has a smooth clean surface to airbrush & create a masterpiece! If you have to shower the day of your tan make sure you give yourself about 4 hours before your tan for your PH levels to normalize. Do not exfoliate the day of your tan, the day before is best.

Wearing dark and loose clothing is important for two reasons. The first reason is to be sure if any of the tanning solution should rub off on your clothes you won’t be able to see it. This doesn’t always happen as we wait for you to dry & use finishing powder to help seal the tan. However, if this should happen the tanning solution will come out in the wash easily! For brides with white dresses we offer a clear solution without bronzer. Although, once you take your first rinse shower & the bronzer washes off, your tan will not budge. Reason two is also very important. You want to wear as loose clothing as possible so you don’t create lines in your tan while it’s developing. No bras, tight underwear or socks. Wear long sleeves and loose long pants to avoid skin on skin patches in your tan. Slip on sandals are also best.

Avoid wearing any make-up on both your face and body the day of your tan so that I have a fresh clean surface to tan evenly. If you must wear makeup I have makeup remover pads you can use prior to your tan, free of charge.

Avoid putting anything on your skin the day of your tan. Anything that will create a barrier between the tanning solution and your skin. Again, I need a fresh clean canvas to airbrush otherwise your tan will not be even after it’s fully developed.

You want to get all your other beauty appointments taken care of before your tan appointment. Things like facials, manicures & pedicures, massages, etc.

You’ll want to schedule your tan appointment 2-3 days before any big event or vacation. That’s when your tan will look best!
